We will launch the event report from our second major summit, Valuing Our Life Support Systems 2014, on 25th June 2015, 6:30 – 9pm in the Macmillan Suite, Portcullis House, London.

In November of last year, we brought together over 250 delegates from across academia, policy, business, and civil society to assess progress in conceptualising natural capital, and the valuation of natural capital for planning and decision-making based on sound science. Now, we will be launching the ‘Valuing our Life Support Systems’ summit report which summarises the findings of the meeting and recommendations for future activity.

We will discuss the findings of the report and its implications for science, policy and business for decisions and priorities during this Parliament and beyond.

After kicking of by opening remarks by Barry Gardiner MP, NCI Chair Professor Rosie Hails will summarised the main findings of the report and outline key recommendations for different sectors. Sector representatives will in turn respond to the implications this will have on business, policy and research.  Confirmed speakers are Will Evison, Assistant Director and Environmental Economist, PwC, Professor Bill Sutherland, University of Cambridge, and Dr Ruth Waters, Head of Profession for the Ecosystems Approach, Natural England. Speaker presentations will be followed by a discussion with the audience.
