In April 2020 we organised two online meetings to discuss the Dasgupta Review on the Economics of Biodiversity with the HM Treasury’s review team.
The meetings brought together over 20 leading experts from natural, social and economic sciences to discuss conservation and restoration, consumption and efficient use of natural resources with the HM Treasury’s Review team. The participants were invited to feed into the key messages of the Review chapters, following a discussion on the general framework which has been published in the interim report.
The discussions were summarised for the chapter authors and the participants were invited to share further ideas and examples of science and solutions directly with the Review team. We hope that these rich and challenging discussions give the Review team a lot to think about as they continue drafting the chapters on conservation and restoration, consumption and efficient use of natural resources.
We continue to support the Review and look forward to sharing knowledge and networks to discuss the potential implications of the Review and take it forward.
The final review is expected to be published later in 2020.
